Our Core Beliefs

At the Staten Island Seventh-day Adventist Church, we are a community of believers who seek to know Jesus, grow in His Word, and share His love with the world. As part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, we believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the ultimate authority for our faith, teachings, and daily living.

We accept the Bible as our creed, with out beliefs being rooted in the Holy Scriptures and centered on Jesus Christ, His life, death, resurrection, heavenly ministry, and promised second coming. We believe that God continues to guide His church through the Holy Spirit, leading us into a deeper understanding of His truth while remaining faithful to His Word.

The Staten Island Seventh-day Adventist Church exists to create a positive and nurturing Christian environment that encourages every member of the family to share the good news of the gospel with the residents of Mariners Harbor and the surrounding communities.

Our beliefs are founded on the teachings of the Bible and can be summarized in four key principles:

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Through His sacrifice, we receive forgiveness, hope, and the promise of eternal life.

God’s Word is our guide for faith and practice. We seek to study, understand, and apply its timeless truths in every area of life.

We joyfully observe the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) as God’s holy day of rest, worship, fellowship, and renewal, a weekly reminder of His love, creative power, and redeeming grace.

We believe Jesus Christ will soon return to establish His everlasting kingdom. This blessed hope inspires us to live faithfully, serve compassionately, and share the gospel with everyone.
