Dr. Silburn I. Reid
Dr. Silburn I. Reid is an ordained minister, passionate preacher, teacher, pastor, and spiritual leader whose greatest desire is to lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. His ministry is marked by biblical preaching, strategic leadership, compassionate pastoral care, and an unwavering commitment to helping people grow into fully devoted disciples of Christ.
Born as the seventh child of Isaiah and Joyce Reid, Dr. Reid was raised in a Christian home where he was taught from an early age to love, trust, and honor God. As a young boy, his calling to ministry was evident when at eight years old, he could often be found preaching sermons to his teddy bears, during family worship, and during Children’s Day programs – a childhood passion that God would later transform into a lifelong calling.
Dr. Reid earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Caribbean University, before pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Andrews University. He later completed his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Leadership at Liberty Theological Seminary, equipping him to serve both the church and community with biblical conviction and organizational excellence.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Reid has faithfully served as Assistant and Associate Pastor at Community Worship Center in Queens under the leadership of Dr. Abraham Jules, and later at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harlem, New York, under the leadership of Dr. Timothy Nixon. In July 2025, he accepted God’s call to serve as Lead Pastor of the Staten Island Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he continues to shepherd the congregation through preaching, teaching, worship, discipleship, community engagement, and strategic vision.
Committed to ministering to the whole person, Dr. Reid has also completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), receiving specialized training in pastoral care, crisis intervention, grief support, and spiritual care within healthcare settings. He is currently pursuing Board Certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains through the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI).
In May 2023, Dr. Reid married the love of his life, Tasha, whose partnership and support continue to strengthen his ministry. Together they are committed to serving God and His people with faithfulness, humility, and love. Outside of ministry, he enjoys playing “football,” spending time with family and friends, reading, engaging in professional development and rooting for his favorite football club, Manchester City.
Dr. Reid believes that authentic ministry extends beyond communicating sound doctrine. His passion is to see the transforming power of the gospel shape hearts, renew minds, strengthen families, and inspire lives that reflect the character of Christ. Whether preaching from the pulpit, teaching in the classroom, counseling families, visiting hospitals, or serving in the community, his desire is to point people toward Jesus and prepare them for His soon return.
Dr. Reid’s favorite Bible passage is Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.” This promise has become a guiding principle throughout his ministry and is beautifully paired with his favorite Hymn, #99 – “God Will Take Care of You.”
His life and ministry are summed up by the words that have become his personal declaration: “If prayer cannot do it, it cannot be done.”
